Leave feeling less alone than when you arrived

First session feels scary? That's totally normal. Here's what might help:

  • Welcome tears. We've all been there. Bring tissues, take breaks, turn off your camera if you need to. Crying is healing, and you're in a space where tears are honored, not judged.

  • You don't have to say anything specific! If you want to wait and go last or chose not to share at all during your first session, you are welcome to decide what is most comfortable for you. When you're ready to share, you'll know. There's no pressure, ever.

  • We keep groups small (8-16 people) and it's rare, but if it happens, you can choose to stay or leave—no judgment either way. If you are worried about your ex being the group, please email us after you register. Confidentiality is our top priority.

  • Our community is beautifully diverse across gender identities, races, ages, and family structures. You'll likely find others with similar experiences, and everyone here understands intersectionality.

  • There's no gatekeeping here. Questioning your sexuality? Contemplating separation? Legally married or not? Been separated for years? You belong here. Period.

  • Our facilitators are trained in trauma-informed practices. Sessions include:

    • Opportunity to connect with a facilitator one-on-one if you are struggling during the session

    • Permission to step away anytime without explanation

    • Grounding techniques offered throughout

    • Option to keep camera off and just listen

    • No one will push you to share before you're ready

  • Choose $0 at registration. We mean it. 35% of our community attends at no cost. Your financial situation is your business. We're here for support, not profit.

  • Here's a typical 90-minute session flow:

Minutes 0-5: Welcome & Settling In

    • People join, facilitator welcomes everyone

    • Brief tech check (can everyone hear?)

    • Overview of today's session

    Minutes 5-15: Confidentiality & Guidelines

    • Review what stays in the room

    • Establish how we'll communicate (hand raising, chat, etc.)

    • Grounding exercise or opening ritual

    Minutes 15-85: Peer Support Circle

    • Each person has a chance to share

    • You can say "I'm just listening today" and that's perfect

    • Group members offer reflections, not advice

    • Space for questions, connections, mutual support

    • Facilitator ensures everyone who wants to speak has time

    Minutes 85-90: Closing Circle

    • Brief check-out: how did it go and is there anything you need from the facilitators?

    • Invitation to join the online community

    • Virtual hugs/waves goodbye

Upcoming Groups

Types of Groups

The Queer Divorce Club community is dedicated to providing a wide range of support for LGBTQIA+ individuals at every stage of their divorce journey, whether they are contemplating divorce, navigating the process, or rebuilding their lives post-divorce.

Support Groups

Our Support Groups give you an opportunity to connect with others who truly understand your journey. These safe, non-judgmental spaces allow you to share your experiences, receive peer support, and find community as you navigate healing and rebuilding after divorce.

Breathwork Sessions

Experience the power of intentional breathing with our trauma-informed breathwork sessions led by a professionally trained facilitator. These sessions offer a safe, supportive space to reduce stress, connect with your emotions, and deepen your relationship with your body as you navigate healing and growth.

Let's Be Clear About What to Expect (and What Not to)

Queer Divorce Club Support Groups ARE:

✓ Peer-to-peer support from people who understand

✓ A safe space to process emotions and experiences

✓ Connection with others on similar journeys

✓ Trauma-informed and professionally facilitated

✓ Confidential and non-judgmental

✓ Connect virtually from anywhere in the world

Queer Divorce Club Support Groups ARE NOT:

✗ Therapy or mental health treatment (we recommend both!)

✗ Legal advice (check our Attorney Directory for that)

✗ A place to bash your ex (we focus on your healing)

✗ Religious or faith-based (secular and inclusive)

✗ A dating pool (strictly about healing and support)
