This month, we're bringing together two of our specialized support groups to create a space for those navigating life beyond the first year of divorce, with or without the added complexity of co-parenting. Whether you're discovering new layers of healing, rebuilding your identity beyond "divorced person," grappling with the emotional turmoil of co-parenting decisions, rebuilding relationships with your kids, or facing unexpected challenges in your post-divorce life, you deserve ongoing support and community. Please note that during the session, we will divide the group into break out groups based on each individual’s support need.
The second year and beyond often bring a different kind of challenge. You've survived the initial shock and the hardest part of the separation, but you may find yourself asking: "Now what?" This phase of continued growth and self-discovery can feel isolating when others assume you should be "over it" by now. During this time, it's easy to believe that you'll never feel better. This murky middle stage is a common thread in many divorce experiences, and it's normal to cycle through it multiple times throughout the divorce and rebuilding process—especially when navigating the ongoing realities of co-parenting or long-term healing.
But there's good news: self-compassion and peer support can guide you through this period, helping you emerge from the murky middle with less pain. Join us as we come together in this combined Queer Divorce Club Support Group to support one another during this challenging time. We'll begin as one group, and then break into focused spaces based on your specific needs—whether that's co-parenting challenges or the broader journey of life beyond year one.
The Queer Divorce Club is an inclusive, judgment-free space where everyone belongs, regardless of how they identify or the reasons behind their divorce. During the session, we will together set ground rules and discuss how we can best support each other, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all. Sharing our stories and acknowledging our shared humanity can foster a sense of interconnectedness, alleviating the isolation that often accompanies suffering.
Don't miss this opportunity to connect with others who understand what you're going through. Let's navigate the murky middle together, celebrate how far we've come, and embrace our evolving selves with compassion and community.
Time: 12 - 1:30 p.m. EST (If you are more than 5 minutes late to session and the group has already begun you will not be able to enter a group. We want conversations to start off with a safe space with each group and adding someone after the group has begun doesn’t allow for the safe space building at the beginning.)
Location: Zoom (link to be set the day prior to the support group)
Price: All of our QDC Support Groups are pay what you can. Please pay the price that fits best with your budget. The general cost of groups is $15/person.
